Safari 4 Dev Preview crashes Hazel Tue Jun 10, 2008 10:30 pm • by teacy123
I just installed Safari 4 Dev Preview and since then hazelfolderwatch crashes every few minutes. The Hazel System Preferences hang, i.e. clicking on the Hazel icon does not lead to any reaction and System Preferences needs to be Force Quit.
The problem disappeared again after downgrading to Safari 3.1.1.

I'm at WWDC now so I probably won't get a chance to look at this until next week. If you happen to try it again and it hangs, can you launch Activity Monitor, select the System Preferences process and do "View->Sample Process"? That might help me to figure out what is going on.

Thanks.

Having the same issue. The process sample I get from System Preferences when trying to open Hazel is as follows:
Code: Select all
Sampling process 3175 for 1 seconds with 1 millisecond of run time between samples
Sampling completed, processing symbols...
Analysis of sampling System Preferences (pid 3175) every 1 millisecond
Call graph:

      864 0xffc
        864 0x8974
          864 NSApplicationMain
            864 -[NSApplication run]
              864 -[NSApplication nextEventMatchingMask:untilDate:inMode:dequeue:]
