Hazel just not working!

Hi,

I have set up a very simple rule to get Hazel to monitor my scanned files folder. The rule is that any files in there of the Kind: JPG be renamed and moved to another folder. Can't get simpler than that, right? Except it doesn't work. What is even more baffling is that it did work before! Help.

Go through the troubleshooting guide stickied near the top of this forum. Report back with diagnostics from that.

Thanks. Will do. As a temporary measure, I changed the condition from Kind:jpg to Extension is jpg and that worked.

Ok. The problem I now have is the rule I set up to watch my scanned files folder for certain files works for some of the files scanned but not others. The scanned files are in identical format (credit card bills). I scanned in 50 separate pages and Hazel worked its magic on 34 of them and did exactly what I wanted, but the remaining 16 are still languishing in my scanned files folder. I tried to run the rules for that folder and the following is the return in the log: 2014-05-14 11:05:45.805 hazelworker[60157] Processing folder Scanned Files (forced)
2014-05-14 11:06:01.899 hazelworker[60157] Done processing folder Scanned Files.

Did you check the preview? What are the results there?

Thanks for getting back to me. The preview shows no rule matching for the files remaining in the scanned files folder, even though identically formatted files have been actioned successfully by Hazel.

You'll need to look more closely at your rule and the files that aren't matching. Something isn't lining up. You can also post your rules here if you want someone else to take a look at it.

Thanks for that and sorry for the delay. I have been away. It's probably a learning curve and I can be a bit of a numpty!
