This should now be fixed in version 3.2.7. If you haven't updated to 3.2.6, then you can ignore this. If you did update and lost your settings, read below for recover options. If in doubt, email support.
Your support files are safe. Do not do anything drastic. Just try the following:
- Open your trash. Look for a Hazel.prefPane file there (there might be a number in parentheses in the name as well). Move that out of the trash to your Desktop.
- See if Hazel offers to reinstall the files.
If that doesn't work, then:
- Go into your trash again and look for a folder called "Hazel Support Files". That will contain all the support files that you need. If you look, it mimics the folder structure of your drive so you can just move those files back into the corresponding place.
If you emptied the trash and have backups, do the following:
- Quit System Preferences.
- Launch Activity Monitor and find HazelHelper. Quit the process.
- Find cfprefsd. Kill any that you can (some may be for other accounts and you can't kill them).
- Restore the following:
- In your Library/Application Support folder, the Hazel folder
- In your Library/Preferences folder, the files starting with com.noodlesoft.
- Reboot.
Also, I am still trying to diagnose what is going on here. If this happened to you can you email support (click "Contact Support" in Hazel's "Info" section) with the following:
- In your Library/Logs/Hazel folder, send the SparkleUpdateLog file.
- In your Trash, find the "Hazel Support Files" folder previously mentioned. Select it and do "Get Info" on it in Finder. Send me the created and modified times. Please also note what timezone you are in.
Thanks.
