I've looked at the other comics post, but didn't feel like it had the info I'm looking for. I'm pretty sure there is an easy solution, I just can't figure it out.

I have a series of comic files that aren't always named the same way, but mostly are. Much like the other post, they are like this:
Typically, the name structure is: [Series Title] [-Optional Story Title] [Issue #] [Release Year] [Scanner Tag].cbr And there's usually repeated names like Empire, Resin, Nagha, Minutemen, DCP, and so on. Some have multiples. The date and scanner tags are often in parentheses, but not always.

What I want Hazel to do is look at the title (not the number or scanner) and move it to the appropriate folder. I've been able to name match and sort into subfolders to an extent, but I can't figure out how to make titles like "Batman and Robin" from going into the strictly "Batman" folder. I would like all the titles to have their own folder. Batman > Batman, Batman and Robin > Batman and Robin, etc.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I assume you are using match patterns for this? Does the issue number have a strict format? If not, you may have problems matching much of anything. Maybe it will help if you provide an actual name as an example.

The numbers formats are typically the same, but the issue number isn't. Here are some examples. You'll notice team 7 is on issue 003 while the rest are on 015

Batgirl 015 (2013) (Digital) (Nahga-Empire).cbr
Batwoman 015 (2013) (2 covers) (digital) (Megan-Empire).cbr
Batman and Robin 015 (2013) (Megan-Empire).cbr
Batman 015 (2013) (4 covers) (Megan-Empire).cbr
Birds of Prey 015 (2013) (Digital) (G85-Empire).cbr
Team 7 003 (2013) (Digital) (Zone-Empire).cbr

Seems like if all you want it the title, you can use a custom token matching "anything" and have that followed by a space then a number and then a space and then a parentheses and then maybe an "anything" token at the end if you don't care about the rest of the info. That should match everything in the examples you've given.

it there a way just to delete everything in parentheses?

So that

X Men 001 (1991) (DCP).cbr

becomes

X Men 001.cbr

It depends. Do you know how many pairs of parentheses there are? Are they always at the end? If your answer is "yes" to the second question, you can match everything up to the first parenthesis and throw away everything after.

Yes they are always at the end. So I could somehow use the anything token inside a custom token? I have tried several different ways but they do not work correctly.

Okay - I got it! I was using Fullname rather than name. I was also obsessed with try to replace text with nothing rather than just leaving out the second custom token. Now it works like a charm.

Thanks for a great App!
