I've set up a rule that matches certain files in a folder and moves them to the Trash; however it doesn't seem to work. I checked the log, and there are lots of entries like this:

2007-10-28 17:52:32.943 (null)[0] 11078697.m3u: Rule eMusic preview matched.
2007-10-28 17:52:32.947 hazelfolderwatch[248] Caught exception in rule evaluation of file 11078697.m3u: Could not retrieve metadata for file: /.../Downloads/11078697.m3u

Any idea what's going on here?


I'm using Hazel 2.1 (v380), under 10.5

It appears that Spotlight is turned off for that folder. Could you describe the rule? My guess is you are trying to match on some attribute that is dependent on Spotlight (like "Kind"). In any case, check on that and report back on what you find.
