Rule works on Lion, fails on ML Sun Oct 06, 2013 5:52 am • by tobiasnyc
Hello,

I purchased Hazel recently, and already a few days later my mac barely needs me anymore. Feels great.

However, I came across a set of rules that works perfectly on one of my two systems (running Lion), and unfortunately not on the other (ML). I have identical folder structures and names and I want both machines to be able to perform the same tasks.

It's set up by two rules: the first has Hazel go into subfolders (IF: Kind is folder, DO: Run rules on folder contents), the second finds PDFs and matches certain words, sets up tokens and sorts them with a particular name pattern in a given folder.

IF:
Kind is PDF
Name contains "Beleg"
Contents contain match [a date match as token]
Contents contain match [vendor name as word, no token]
Contents contain match [receipt no. as token]

DO:
Rename with pattern: [Date match - Vendor - Receipt.Extension]
Move to folder
Set color label

Again, this rule works like a charm on Lion, but does not initiate action on ML. Are there any known issues with the processes I have used that prohibits me from using this rule in this form on ML? I'm thinking of the date-matching or the subfolder processing.

Many thanks for your help!
Tobias

Not that I know of. Please follow the troubleshooting guide at the top of the forum and report back with info from that.
