Copy Rules from one folder to another? Fri Jul 05, 2013 3:31 pm • by Scooter
I've created a set of rules that work great on one folder. I would like to have the same set work on a different folder (with minor modifications). Is there a way to copy a rule from one folder to another? I see how to duplicate them, but they still are attached to the same folder. Is there something like a copy/paste that will put an identical rule on a completely different folder?

Try dragging the rules. Make sure the green + appears when you drop it to indicate a copy (you can hold down the option key to force it to copy).

Forgive my being slow. But I can't drag a rule because I would have to close the slide for one folder and open it on the other without releasing the mouse. Is there a way to have more than one instance of the program open? I've tried exporting, but I can only bring in the whole set of rules, not just the one I want. I suppose I could manually recreate it, but I have to do it to a LOT of rule sets. (I'm updating all my receipts from "Date Today" to the wonderful new 'match content!' Recreating each would be a LOT of work.)

Not sure what you mean by "slide" here. In the main folder interface, there is a list of rules on the right. Select the rules you want to copy and drag them to the left to the folder where you want to copy them.
