How to extract a date from Text

New Feature - Added a custom date token type. Can use it to match dates in text and then be used as a date in other patterns.

I'm not nerdly enough to follow that (for which I am ashamed). Is that saying there is a feature that I can used to extract a date from the text of, say, a bank statement and use it to rename the document? I've been wanting to do that for for years, but have no idea how.

If that's what that means... how do I find it?

Yes, that's how it should work. You can search the help for "match patterns" but for something more visual, check out the Buzz section. David Sparks did a video showing how to do this. There are also other great articles from all over the place linked there so I suggest checking that section out.

For those interested, the video showing date matching in Hazel 3.1 is available at David Sparks website/blog http://macsparky.com/?tag=hazel
