How can I test a rule before implementing? It seems that when I add a rule it immediately starts to react on my files. What am I doing wrong?

Turn off Hazel (or other rules with a CTRL click/right click) and use the preview window (the eyeball) to see what files/folders your rules match to.

EDIT - whoops; wrong key combination.

Where exactly are you using Command-click?

To pause and resume rule processing for a specific folder, I select it and run Pause Rules and Resume Rules from the context or gear menu. Comes in handy when adding new folders/rules so they can be previewed before being enabled for the first time.
