Content doesn't "trigger" Mon Apr 01, 2013 3:36 pm • by Mikey666
Hi
I cannot solv this one myself (and it drives me crazy):

I have a PDF file that i want to rename based on its content. I have 10-15 other Hazel rules that work with renaming similar files.

The PDF file is a salary statement written in Danish and the "trigger" word I am using is "Lønseddel".

The rule is: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1985774/hazel.tiff

I use PDFPen Pro 6 for OCR (activated English, Danish and Swedish languages)

I have done the following in trying to catch what i have done wrong:
- placed the rule first in the particular folder list so no rule before would catch it
- i have checked the "Rule Matched" (Preview mode) - no hit
- i have checked the Hazel.log - nothing
- i have searched for the keyword in the file in the Preview application - it finds the word
- i have searched for the file with Spotlight for this keyword - and it finds the file
- i have re-OCR:d the file
- i have re-created the rule from scratch a couple of times

Since i thought the problem might be related to the "strange" Danish letter "ø" i have replaced it with other words found in the same file - it seems the problem is something with the file, i cannot get any words in the file to trigger the rule.

But the same OCR engine (PDFPen Pro 6) with the same settings works on other rules based on content.

I dont have any further ideas ... please help :-)

best regards
Mike

I am currently looking into a bug where "Contents contains" may randomly fail. If you are interested in running a test build, email support and I'll send you a link.

I'm having the exact same issue.

I would be interested in the test build.

Thanks.

I just released a new version with this fix. Update and report back.

Also, make sure to test with Spotlight first. If it doesn't work there, it won't work in Hazel and the problem lies deeper.
