Hi Noodlers,
I am a new user of Hazel. I am not a new computer suer and I thought I had a grip on the whole boolean thing. Well maybe not the WHOLE boolean thing but pretty solid at least.

Would someone please set me up with a lifeline to starting Hazel? I have flopped around trying several rules but I am a fish on the deck, gasping and grasping for any help.

I tried conditioning for a single file type only to have Hazel copy whole folders instead of >files<.
I tried copying so that moves would not 'lose' my stuff.
I tried renaming with paths so that I could backtrack to see what Hazel found where.
I have succeeded in making some messes of my stuff. :|

I yi yi. Is there a Hazel sandbox where I can get right with this marvelous tool so that I can unleash the awesome?

Start me up - someone?

It sounds like you're changing the first line of the condition pane. If you want Hazel to search only for particular file types, make sure your rule looks like this:

Code: Select all
if (all) of the following conditions are met for (the file or folder being processed):
     kind is (whatever you want)

Do the following to the matched file or folder:
     rename, move whatever.

The important line is: if (all) of the following conditions are met for (the file or folder being processed):
