SMB and Mountain Lion (10.8) : Hazel Impacted?; Workaround?

There is an all in one printer I own, Canon MX860. It has a compact flash card that is accessible over the network using SMB. There are many results when one does an internet search for "SMB Mountain Lion". It seems as though SMB is still an issue for 10.8. That said, how are Hazel users working around the issue, that is, if indeed Hazel has an issue mounting SMB hosts.
Let me know if I can clarify any of the above.

What specific issue are you seeing?

Well, the last time I mounted the Compact Flash (CF) card via SMB, Mountain Lion clients seemed to cause complications for the Finder; sorry, I cannot be more specific. Operations such mounting/unmounting the network share seemed to cause distress. In order to get back to normal, I had to restart Finder.
If you would like more clear cut examples, then I can provide those.
My understanding was that since the SMB/CIFS protocol had to be rewritten for 10.8, this is new code that is not exactly working yet. Are you familiar with what I speak of?

Unfortunately, I haven't dealt with these issues. I'm guessing you'd need to sort things out with the system before Hazel can use it reliably. If Finder is having problems then I'm not sure there is much that Hazel can do about it.
