Hi all -

I've got a workflow set up where Hazel moves old files from my desktop to a dated folder within an archive folder in my Dropbox. I want to set up a workflow that works on this folder to delete any files older than 30 days, and put the name of the deleted file into a text file so I can track it later.

Here's what I've got set up in Hazel:

It's set to work on the top level archive folder. When I do a test run I end up with folder names in the deleted text file instead of files.

Can someone point me to where I've gone wrong here?

First off, do not post questions in the Tips forum. There's a sticky article up top telling you not to do this.

First off, Hazel has a log (click "View Log" in the "Info" section). There's a lot of noise there but you can filter it down by searching for the rule name or the destination folder.

That said, you should not be using "any sub-files". That tells Hazel, match folders whose subfiles match the conditions underneath. In this case, it matches folders which contains non-folders not opened in the last 30 days with a name that isn't deleted_files.txt. If you want to match the files in subfolders, you need to do as described in the sticky article at the top of this forum.
