Prevent hazel from running rules after editing/creating

Each and every time that I create or edit a rule, Hazel automatically applies and runs it on the folder. Most times I don't really want Hazel to do that, is there any option to cancel that, and make it run only on new files from now on?
Thanks...

Try adding conditions to the rule to only affect new files. Something like "Date added is after Date last matched" should do it.

also, just as general advice, i always always always pause rules for a folder before i start editing them, then check what files will match (eye icon at the bottom of the folder list), and then turn them back on. you can make a big mess otherwise.

Hmm, I don't recall writing that original response and I also didn't move this thread to the correct forum (please, do not post questions in the Tips forum). I must've been confused that day.
Yes, as stated, pausing folders or stopping Hazel entirely is the best way to do this. Also, make frequent use of the preview feature as that will save you from a lot of mistakes.
