Hazel sets incorrect Date Matched

I have a rule that uses

Code: Select all

Date Last Matched is before specific date 10/17/2026, 7:48AM

When I noticed it processing files more than once, I looked at Rule Status and Hazel is setting Date Matched on every file to the same date/time of 8/1/26 10:16PM, which is before I ever turned the rule on.

Is Date Matched on the Rule Status window meant to be an accurate representation of when the file was last matched, or is that a placeholder?

If a file matches that rule, the date last matched gets updated to the current time/date. What is it you are trying to do with this condition?
