Automatically Organize Screenshots by Date

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Hazel and I'm trying to create a rule that automatically moves screenshots from my Desktop into folders organized by year and month.

For example:

Desktop Screenshot 2026-06-02.png

would be moved to:

Screenshots/2026/06/

I've managed to move files into a single folder, but I'm not sure how to create the year and month folders automatically based on the file's creation date.

Has anyone set up a similar workflow? Any advice or example rules would be greatly appreciated.

You can use Sort into subfolder and add a date attribute. You can edit the date attribute to only use the year or month or whatever.
