Disable Growl notifications for one rule Wed Sep 12, 2012 11:15 am • by LagaV
Hi!

I really like the Hazel Growl integration. For some rules (mostly high frequency rules) I would like to disable the Growl messages. Is there a way to disable Growl for some rules?

Thanks,

Which messages are you referring to? If the are from using the Growl action, then you can just delete that action. Otherwise, the messages are split up into categories like file event and errors. You can't really disable them on a rule-by-rule basis but on a category basis.

The only way to do what you want is to have Growl not deliver any file event messages (if those are the ones you are talking about) and then on every rule you want to have Growl messages for, use the Growl action to send a custom one.

My problem are some file events, but not all of them. So disabling all file events won't help. For some there are highly appreciated, some of them I don't want to see.

For me it would be be very helpful if every rule had a individual setting regarding Growl enablement.

I think you are missing my point. If you disable all file events and then use custom Growl notifications for the rules you do care about, then you get the effect you want.
