Update Error!

Hello,

I'm trying to update from 5.3.4 to 6.0.4 on MacBook Pro M1 running Sequoia 15.5 but I keep getting
Update Error!
Failed to Extract update.

Any ideas?

You can't update from version 5 to version 6 using the in-app updater as it is a paid upgrade. You will need to download and install it manually from https://www.noodlesoft.com

I had been doing a bunch of troubleshooting around this before I found this thread. It makes sense but it would help if there was better error messaging or notice on the software update screen that lets the user know they must download it directly from the site to go from v5 -> v6.

Haven't had time to look into this too deeply but it seems to be an issue in the client (Hazel 5). The problem then is that (a) I would need a patch to an older version of Hazel just for this and (b) you wouldn't be able to update to it unless you do it manually, which is the problem in the first place.

At some point I'll look into some way to workaround it on the server side but for now we have the awkward situation currently.
