Hazel 5.2.2
Check for update is greyed out.

After the upgrade to Sequoia 15.3 and possibly before, Hazel is oscillating between "Hazel has been stopped" and Start.

Strange.

It doesn't say which: ”No such file or directory”

Can you try updating to the latest version of Hazel 5?

Updated to Hazel 6.0, still oscillating…

Have you rebooted? Also, do you have any other copy of Hazel anywhere, including the trash?

There had been various hick-ups with Sequoia,

once I downgraded to Sonoma, everything is fine!
