Prevent Creation/Moving of files beginning with .period

Hello,
I am a brand new Hazel user and am having some problems with one of my rules. I work on three computers on the same LAN: an OS 10.8 computer running Hazel 3, a Windows 7 computer, and an Ubuntu computer that hosts my network share drives. I have written a rule that moves all of the PDF files that Hazel finds in the OS X Downloads folder to a folder on my Ubuntu share called PDF Holding Bin:
If all of the following conditions are met for the file or folder being matches
- Extension is PDF
- File invisible is false
Do the following to the matched file or folder:
- Move to folder: PDF Holding Bin

If I use Chrome to download a PDF into my OS X Downloads folder, Hazel moves that file into my PDF Holding Bin and a hidden filename version of the same file appears (beginning with period) in the same PDF Holding Bin directory. (Windows 7 shows the hidden file)

If I copy a PDF file from my Mac to the OS X Downloads folder, Hazel moves it into my PDF Holding Bin, but the hidden file does not appear. (Desired behavior)

Is there a way to set up Hazel and/or Chrome such that the hidden files do not appear in my PDF Holding file shared folder?

Thank you,

Craig

I'm not sure what that is. Can you email support and attach one of those dot files? What filesystem is the holding bin using? Are you sharing it via SMB?

What's the best way to send Noodlesoft a file? I'm not sure how to do it via the support form; is there an e-mail address to use?

Thank you,
Craig

In Hazel's "Info" section, click on Contact Support. That will open a Mail window where you can attach things.

Oh, and I suggest compressing the file first as that will help to preserve certain pieces of metadata.
