need help with rules for moving tv shows Thu Jun 06, 2024 11:10 am • by mrgreeneyes
Hello,

i have my folder structure like this in the downloads folder

torrents
completed

Tv shows

Movies

what i want to do is for Hazel to find any tv show that is in the completed folder and move it to the tv shows folder.

the issue is most of the tv show episodes are in subfolders, i would also like hazel to only move the video file and then delete the empty folder.

can someone help me with the rules?

i saw posts where i can use tokens for hazel to specifically only move files that match the token, how do i do that?

Look up "subfolders" in the manual as that is a key piece. Yes, you can use pattern matching. Again, the manual will help here though without more details, can't say how it pertains to your specific case.

First off, the formatting in your post doesn't make your folder structure clear. It might help if you fix that. Also, is any file that appears in "completed" a TV show or do you need to apply some criteria to identify which ones are TV shows? What do the TV show folders look like?
