Periodically backup folder - if modified Tue Jun 04, 2024 2:18 am • by andy4222
Does this rule make sense? I'm trying to backup a directory/file if it was modified at least 15 days ago. It works sometimes, and other times it doesn't. The debug log just says it didn't match the rule. Is this the right any way to setup such a rule? Any suggestions?

If it doesn't match, then you'll need to click on the red X's to see why.

It does seem weird that you copy the file to Downloads only to move it to another folder later. Any reason why you don't copy it to the final destination directly?

So I'm backing up this directory (with many sub directories and files) to google drive. I noticed if I copy the directory to g drive, then it starts syncing all that data right away - what I want is to just backup the compressed version of the directory (which is essentially one file) and then it should starts syncing. Hence I moved it to a temp location. Any other suggestions?

PS: Syncing a directory so thousands of files makes google drive spin up fans on my laptop

Got it. Did you figure out the matching issue?
