Delete character with Hazel Wed Mar 20, 2024 5:58 am • by SarahnBJ
I would like to know if it is possible to delete a character in a filename with hazel, not replace with another character. An example would be File.Name.2024/03/20.JPG and I would like to remove the / so it would rename as File.Name.20240320.JPG. This may be simply leaving the replace with field empty to achieve this but I don't want to purchase the product without knowing the answer first because I have tried to achieve this with Automator but you can't leave the replace with field blank on that program.

You should be able to leave the replace field blank. You can run Hazel in trial mode for 14 days to test it out before buying.
