hazelworker working too much? Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:54 am • by RedLemon
when i look in Activity Monitor, i see that hazelworker is using between 30/48% CPU all the time. that can't be right can it?

it's still the same even if i untick any rules. i've tried uninstalling Hazel and reinstalling, but it makes no difference.

Please email support (click the contact support button in the Info section) with the following:

- Your rules.
- An Activity Monitor sample. Select the worker process and do Sample Process.
- Your logs. Go to the Info section and click "View Log". Send the logs for the period in question.

It might also help if you enable debug mode before doing the above. Instructions are in the sticky article near the top of this forum.

after capturing the log i worked out what the problem was. hazel was constantly trying to unzip and move old, partial downloads from my download folder.

once i had deleted them, CPU use returned to normal.

thanks for the help :)
