Contents rule not working

I'm trying to create a rule looking for a certain word in the contents of a pdf file and it isn't working. The word is printed in the document at about a 10 point font. Does it need to be a bigger size to be found?

Try using Hazel's preview function. There, you can see how it matches as well as the text as Hazel sees it.

That's what I have been doing. It just says "doesn't match" no other explanation, unless I am missing something.

It says not matched "Contents". Should I send you a copy of the document?

Does it show the document contents? Can you post a screenshot of the preview popup?

I am having a similar issue ever since moving to my new M3 MacBook Pro. I can get a match on name, but not on contents of scanned PDFs. I can find the search term using the Preview apps search bar, but Hazel isn't returning any content at all. Even if I just try to find the letter "a".

I can't figure out how to post a screenshot, but there is nothing in the box next content when I click on the red X.

@joelamkin: Launch System Settings and go to Language & Region. Is Live Text enabled? If so, disable it. Restart Preview and see if you can select text then.

You are a genius. I could not. And that made me realize I had not set up my Scansnap properly to recognize text.
