Newbie question, couldn't find in forums:

Can/how can Hazel rules be applied to Apple Mail folder structure?

I'm interested in automating the archive of my work Exchange mail as it's deleted from the server after 6 months.
I currently use nested folders under the Exchange account in Apple Mail for organization.

Using some combo of Hazel and a tool such as MailSteward, is it possible to create a scheduled, automated work flow to copy the messages from the Exchange server to a parallel nested folder structure locally, which would allow MailSteward to do it's magic?

Thanks for input or redirects.

I wouldn't recommend using Hazel to operate on Mail's folders/files, with the exception of the mail downloads folder. This is considered to be internal data to Mail and moving stuff around out from underneath it can cause problems. I guess if you are just copying the files, you could try that as that won't disturb Mail. I don't know anything about MailSteward either, unfortunately, but if you run into any issues on the Hazel side, report back.
