Criteria to Delete or Move Files After Certain Date

I would like to create one or more rules to automate deleting or moving files after a certain date.

For example, I would like to automatically delete copies of Insurance Policies after the expiration date. Likewise, I keep confirmation that I've returned something until I receive a refund.

I'm sure there's a way to do this with Hazel but I'm not sure where to add the criteria for Hazel to match.

For pdf files, I could add a text string such as "Move after: [date]" or "Delete after: [date]"

For all files including pdf's, I could add either of these to the Comments area from the Get Info window in Mac OS Finder.

Will either method work? is one method better than another?

Thank you for any advice or suggestions.

You can use the "Current time" attribute to have a rule match at a certain time. Problem is that you can only match against certain attributes like day of the week or month and such.

There's no way at the moment to match against, say, a custom date attribute that you define. I will consider this something to implement in the future though.
