Run certain rules less often?

I have a few rules that run on removable drives. The problem is that the rules appear to run continually, so I am unable to unmount them without first disabling Hazel. Is there a way around this?

Could you describe how they are being run continually? Can you send me logs showing this (see the sticky article near the top about how to turn on debug mode)?

Well it hasn't happened since I posted this, so it must have been a coincidence.

How often does Hazel run the rules?

It runs them as needed. If there is a lot of file activity or if the date conditions warrant it, it will run. Otherwise it won't. Version 3 is fairly well tuned to run specifically when needed (it has a whole engine just to calculate/predict that). If it is running a lot, that usually means it has to (i.e. there's a ton of file activity keeping it busy) or there's a bug (in which case, you need to turn on debug logging and send me the logs).

I'll keep an eye on it and follow up if I notice it happening again.
