Hello,

I would like to migrate my installation to a new Mac and would like to know if a "clean" reinstallation of Hazel with restoring the rules from the backup makes more sense to avoid possible configuration errors than the way described here?

Thank you very much.

I would try migration assistant first and if that doesn't work, follow the restore guide.

My question was not specific enough, sorry.

Actually, I wanted to know whether a "clean" reinstallation of Hazel - on a new Mac - with restoring the rules from the backup makes more sense than migrating the Mac or using the restore guide to avoid possible configuration errors?

I have to work with Windows software in my job and have already experienced some configuration problems.
Therefore, I have reservations about taking over old configurations.

Is this less problematic under MacOS?

Thank you very much.

Follow my previous advice. It's not a problem until it's a problem. If things do not work after Migration Assistant, then you can follow the restore guide.
