Extract and install application from DMG Thu Apr 05, 2012 1:41 am • by sushlik
Hello,

I have recently read about a workflow to process downloaded Applications in sparseimages (or other packages):

1. Unarchive DMG / ZIP etc.
2. Move app to applications folder
3. Move DMG or ZIP to trash

This is the very short version and I'd like to apply this workflow to my hazel routines, but fail. I can't find the original article, which explained the workflow in more detail and included some applescript to apply to the workflow.

Any idea anybody?

Cheers,
Sascha

PS: sorry for my bad english :)

You'd need some sort of logic to go into the folder that is created after unarchiving the file. Also, Hazel doesn't unarchive DMGs. In the end, some sort of script will probably be needed. I'm not sure which article you read but you can try checking the Buzz section to see if there's anything there.
