Online network folder, offline in Hazel

I've been having this issue on my Mac [macOS 12.4 (21F79)] where Hazel [5.1.1 (2238)] doesn't run its rules on files in a network folder and tells me it's offline. However, the volume is online and the folder is accessible through Finder. The issue remains even if I disconnect and reconnect the volume. It also happens to other folders in the same network volume.
The log file contains this related to that folder:
- Code: Select all
2022-07-13 09:21:03.342 86Z3GCJ4MF.com.noodlesoft.HazelHelper[2890] Attempted to run worker on undeployed folder: /Volumes/Director/NFSE.
Is there anything I could do or set Hazel differently to solve this?

Export your rules, then remove and re-add the folder.

Adding the folder again solves for the moment, but it continues happening after that.

That indicates that the server is not providing a stable id for Hazel to identify it. What kind of file server is it? Is it a NAS? If so, what model?

It's a Windows Server, connected by the SMB protocol.

Is it being mounted under a consistent name or is the name changing? For example, if you have two volumes with the same name, one of them may get a number appended to it.

It’s always under the same name.

Try this: create an alias to that folder on your desktop. When the problem happens in Hazel, check the alias to see if it is still valid.
