'Date Created' resets to today when file is moved.

Hi all

I've searched high and low to a solution but so far, nothing has worked.

I have some Hazel rules set up to rename, move my photos and videos. The files are being moved from my Mac to a NAS drive.

Before the files are moved, the 'Date Created', 'Date Modified', and the file name are named perfectly. After the files are moved, the 'Date Created' resets to today, presumably because the 'Move' or 'Copy' functions in Hazel create a new file? If I move the files manually, the 'Date Created' to preserved. However, when run through Hazel, the date is reset.

What is the best way (or any way really) to reset the 'Date Created' of the photo/video file?

Appreciate any help, this has been driving my nuts!!

Cheers

EDIT: my files are named in the following format ‘2008-02-12 08-12-12’.

Nevermind. Realised I was having problems because I connecting to my NAS via AFP. Connecting via SMB solved the issue.
