I have Hazel version 3.0.1 (build 771).

I do not know how long this problem has persisted, but I checked on Hazel when I saw my Trash folder was not being cleared as I had setup Hazel to do. I went to the configuration settings and noticed Hazel was stopped. I clicked the Start button, but the status still said stopped, so I checked the logs. Here is a snippet of the log that just keeps repeating over and over:

The folder is not processed; I created some duplicate files here using the finder.

So I tried for another, different, user on my Mac, and Hazel seems to work flawlessly.

Any suggestions?

-> Mac OS 10.7.5.

Try re-adding the folder to Hazel. Remember to export your rules before deleting the folder from Hazel so you can reimport them after you add them back.

I have the same problem. Hazel does not process and simply refuses to start.

I removed and added the folder, logged out and back in, and even restarted my machine. Nothing helped.

Do you have two copies of HazelHelper running? If so, you need to track down the extra copy of Hazel that is installed. Check Library/PreferencePanes both at the top level and in your home folder.

Yes, that was exactly the problem. Removed one copy and started working like a charm.

Which one should we keep? I have two:

Hazel (1063).prefPane
Hazel.prefPane

Where are they located? In general, I'd remove any version with a number in the name.
