Expand short URL

I have an IFTTT script that generates a short URL that ends up in a text file that I archive with Hazel. I want to expand that short URL so I'm not reliant on IFTTT for expansion in future. Any thoughts on how that might best be done in Hazel? Perhaps calling a short Python or bash script? Other ideas?

A script of some sort will be needed which Hazel can then call from the "Run shellscript" action.
