Making aliases

A rule creates an alias to keep track of files created in the last 7 days inside a folder.
The point is that this rules keep on creating hundreds of the same alias and I do not know how to make it a single instance (i.e. do it once and skip it if the alias is already there).
Does anybody have any suggestion?
