FYI in case this helps others, I was having a few niggling issues with Hazel 5.1 on macOX 12.0.1. All seemed to be resolved.

: When I pressed Cmd-Tab to cycle through running apps, Hazel would not quit on pressing Cmd-Q
: When I did a Restart or Shutdown, Hazel would get in the way of that and force me to do a "Force Quit"
: check for updates seemed to do nothing

I downloaded from Noodlesoft website and installed 5.1.1 and above issues seemed to have gone away. Thanks!

I had the sam problem with hazel (v5.1) stopping the shutdown procedure and while the automatic update did not work, I wasn't even aware that there was v5.1.2 out already.
all problems solved now!
