Rules on nested folders not working Sun Oct 24, 2021 8:28 pm • by andy4222
Hi everyone,

I have been trying to set up a rule to backup certain preferences files, but the rule doesn't seem to be working on a nested hierarchy folder properly. I also read through the docs and tried a few things but couldn't fully understand. Could anyone please help me out?

What I want:
- If the folder ("backups" in this case) or any of its subfiles/subfolders have been modified within the last X days, copy>compress>move.

I stumbled into the below rule, which runs sometimes and doesn't other times. Even if I trigger it manually, if shows all the green checkboxes, but doesn't do anything. Rule is created on the parent folder of "backups" since I want to copy the entire "backups" folder

Rule here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/foiohjbicohdb5b/bb.png?dl=0

Questions:
- What's wrong with this rule?
- Do I need two nested "IF" here. Can't I simplify it? Conditions inside the main IF seems unnecessary to me yet removing them fails the entire workflow
- Any other way I can accomplish this?
