tips for processing rules on large files on iCloud Drive?

Hi,

Video files are shared with me via iCloud Drive. I have rules for copying them to an external drive, but I end up with multiple copies (which is neither desirable nor tenable, given their size).

This seems like the files aren’t recognized as having been processed by Hazel, which may be related to the fuzzy status of iCloud Drive-based documents not really being “local”.

The PDF guide only has 2 instances of “iCloud” in it which, if memory serves, are about synchronizing rules across devices.

Anyone have any guidance or experience to share? :)

The files do need to be local for Hazel to process them properly. Also, you may want to put a delay in the rule so that Hazel doesn't touch them until after some time. Something like "Date last modified is not in the last X minutes" or something along those lines may help.

I figured as much; the trouble with iCloud Drive — as opposed to, say, Dropbox — is that the files don’t automatically download.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
