Just got back into using Hazel.

Got Version 5 and started setting up my rules for filing household statements.

Three times now, I get a rule matching error with the Custom Date trigger.
Just scanned a home insurance statement and CANNOT get the custom date trigger to match!

I was matching the first date from beginning of document, but that is a policy date range, so I switched to first date from the end which is a single date when the payment is due.

No match.

I figured out the first instance, but the second and third times have me stumped.

That custom date is what I use to rename, file, and subfolder the document of course.

Ideas?

Are you using automatic date detection? If so, I suggest specifying a pattern instead.

I was using automatic date detection, and for most documents it works perfectly.

For these few types, it doesn't, so I switched to setting the date pattern.

Still no match.

Can you post the specific text you are trying to match?

These are examples of dates where I am having the error with automatic date detection as well as specifying the date pattern.

Subscription receipt: May 5, 2021
Insurance statement: February 26 2021
Different insurance statement: 2/11/2021

Am I correct that if I can't get this part of the trigger to work correctly that the Renaming with custom dates will not work either?

What does your pattern look like? Do you include the preceding text in the pattern? The Rename won't have proper dates to use if you can't get the dates to match.
