Hazel has stopped working - Insufficient access privileges. Rules fail to run.

Version Hazel 5.06

I have tried to remedy by
Backing up all my rules
Deleting the offending folder in Hazel
Recreating the folder in Hazel
Importing the rules back into Hazel.

But still no joy.

This issue was discussed by me in another thread and was cured, but it has come back.

I found the issue and solved it!

I had downloaded a bank statement from my Credit Union and that PDF file apparently was set by the creator with read only access. It wasn't a folder permission issue it was a file permission issue. I changed the file permissions to read-write for my user name and poof! Hazel tagged and then wisked the file into the proper place.

Update: I did some more testing that revealed where things went wrong. I downloaded my bank statement from the website. First the PDF was displayed in Safari. I told it to "Open in Preview" so I could save a copy. Then in Preview I selected "File ->Move To...". I usually select "Save" from the Preview File menu. But this time I selected "Move To..."

When I Save a file from Preview, it gets "read-write" permissions. But when I use the "Move To..." menu option instead, the resulting file ends up with "read Only" permissions. Who knew?

Bottom line: Don't use "Move To..." saving files from Preview.

Hope this helps any others with this issue.
