Hey there,

I have some trouble lately matching files and I guess I just don't understand part of the matching logic.

Example: I match
<date - automatically detact date format><anything>
and want it to trigger with files like
20210312-something
but not
xx-20210312-something

As it turns out it does trigger not the first but does the latter - which lead to around 450 already named files getting a bunch of renamed long date name files. Thank god there was dropbox rewind.

I don't get it why it is not working as expected. Can someone clear things up?

Thanks,
David

I suggest going through the troubleshooting guide here: https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/hazel-tro ... ing-guide/

Report back with the results.

Hello,

I checked and the matching does not make sense to me even in the rule status preview.

I recorded a short screencast to show the problem:

It might be an issue with the automatic date recognition though the case with the client name is weird. Can you email in the rule(s) and an example file demonstrating the problem?
