Count files / create subfolder

New to Hazel v3 and also Apple.

I have a folder where I accumulate files. I would like to take those files when they >= 25 and move only 25 of those files to a unique subfolder named by date / time.

I would love to do this on my own if someone can get me pointed in the right direction.

Thanks!
R

There is a Spotlight attribute called Number of Items which will give you the total number of files for a folder. What's not clear is which 25 files are moved. I'm guessing you would use the new "is among the X" operator for that though.

Played with this overnight and I am missing something. I will take any input on this.

I can only get the rule to run if I use the "is > than" 25 operator.

The rule will then grab all files in the folder, not just the 25 or until the file count is < 25 - it takes all files.

Sort in to subfolders then sorts the images based on one of the selected files meta information. I can not get Hazel to generate unique folders containing exactly 25 files.

Royah,

It may be helpful to know why you are trying to do this. There may be a more elegant solution out there, than what you are thinking. (Still a newbie to Hazel myself)
