How to exclude a specific date

I'm scanning a number of medical documents. The intent is to rename the doc with the date of service and text I type in. I've set the Hazel rule to find the first date with 'Contents - contain match - varStatementDate'. Usually in the middle of the document is my name and birth date. Hazel invariably pulls my birthdate as the statement date. I've tried a lot of different formats for the date. I've set Hazel to Automatically find the date, I changed which position it would choose (1st from beginning, 2nd, from the end, etc.).

My hope is I could have Hazel ignore my birthdate, then choose another date in the document. It is formatted the same every time.

Thanks. - Harry

Instead of trying to exclude a date, instead try and include some context for the date you want. If there is any text surrounding that date, include that in your pattern so that it can be singled out.
