Question about actions when copying a file

If I apply multiple actions to a file and the first action is Copy to [folder] are subsequent actions applied to the original file or to the copy? If they are applied to the original and not the copy (which I want) is there a way to make that happen without creating a new action for the target folder? I know that is an option.

They are applied to the copy. If you are trying to remove the original, then you really want to do a move instead.
