Syncing Keywords to Finder Tags Wed Dec 09, 2020 10:43 am • by Pixel Needs
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to sync all keywords of a file and add them as Finder tags? It's easier and faster for me to add keywords in Adobe Bridge. Then I have Hazel rules that organize the files by specific tags.

I'm on Hazel 5.0.3

Thanks

No way to really do that in a general way. While you may be able to create a dynamic tag to grab all the keywords, they will get added as one giant tag.

In the future, I'm considering adding supports for list attributes (not to be confused with the list item attributes introduced in Hazel 5). This would allow you to capture lists of items and treat them as lists and then set them on other attributes which are lists, such as tags.

That would be AMAZING!
For now, I've made rules to match the most important keywords such as the folders they'll be sorted into (By other rules) which I've tagged starting with a ;(anything) rule.

By the way, Hazel has changed my work life for years now and I really appreciate your work on it.
