What is a document in Hazel?

Hello, I am a freelance journalist/reviewer who is currently reviewing Hazel 5 for Photoshop User and Visuals Producer. I purchased an upgrade for this purpose and am very impressed with the list and table features.

I am now busy writing a rule that should move all Last opened files within 4 days into a folder I designate. That all works well with "ordinary" files like text files and Pages documents. However, I want this to work with profile files from Loupedeck and other files the Finder reports back as "Kind = document" but Hazel doesn't recognize as such — the Preview gives that part of the rule a "no match" and the rule indeed does not execute.

I can, of course, write a rule for every file like those Loupedeck profile files that I download, but then I can just as well move the files by hand. My question therefore is: if the Finder calls it a Document, why doesn't Hazel? And how can I solve this problem?
Thanks,
Erik

Hazel uses Spotlight. It normally should correspond to Finder but there are exceptions. Note that Document is very general, pretty much applying to anything that isn't a folder.

I don't know Loupedeck but you may be better off trying to use any Kinds it produces specifically.

OK, thanks.

BTW, I am reviewing Hazel 5 for Visuals Producer and Photoshop User. Here's the first article: https://visualsproducer.wordpress.com/2 ... 0/hazel-5/

Hope you'll like it.
