Hi,

Hazel always was a system settings app now it is a full app with a dock icon is there a posibility that the dock icon can be disabled so hazel lives in my menubar?

Note that Hazel does not need to be running to run your rules. Quit it if you aren't using it.

That’s strange because if I close Hazel my rules simply won’t run.

I had the same problem and don't want to interfere where you probably have done it already, but have you given Hazel Full Disk access in your System Preferences > Security and Privacy panel?

I always run into problems with newly installed software because I tend to forget that macOS is now a system that needs you to explicitly allow things like these.

My copy runs fine on Catalina after giving Hazel full disk access. Maybe worth a try?

If it doesn't run with Hazel not running, then it won't run with it running. Rules are run by a totally separate process.

Do you see a notice saying that the helper is stopped?
