Hazel 5.0.1 Anomolies

It seems that the Metadata field "Folder Name" is not populating. I set up the rule below to operate on any file, and as you can see in the image, it is failing because Folder Name is blank. This is with an image file preview and the folder name is reddit_sub_plane.

This worked fine back on Hazel 4, so something is weird in my 5.0.1 implementation.

The other issue I am having is if I define a rule to load an image into Photos, as soon as I save the rule. Hazel crashes.

[edit] I just found a new anomaly with V5. If I make any changes to a rule, I need to change the rule title to get the save button to appear. Otherwise the changes are not preserved.

Thoughts?

First image is not coming through. Can you repost it?

That's why I added the link. I don't seem to be using the [IMG] tag correctly. The link points to the same image in imgur.

I see. Thought it was a different image. Can you click on the checkmark for the "Folder Name matches" condition? Also, what is •Folder Name matching?

FolderName is set to anything as I was trying to see what if anything it was capturing

Here is the result of the checkbox

I've done some further testing, just setting up a match rule while in preview mode so I can select the "I" button to see what the fields show.
Folder Name, Document Container and Containing Folder Names all show up blank. File Pathname does show a complete pathname so that metadata element is working.

Note that Hazel is not responsible for filling those out. That all comes from Spotlight so if they are empty, then you need to look into Spotlight on your system. If you also upgraded to Big Sur, then that would definitely be an issue.

I've rebuilt my entire spotlight and this issue still exists. Looking for a way to examine spotlight metadata to validate your assertion. My concern here is that the only thing that changed on my system between rules based on folder name working and not working was moving from Hazel V4 to Hazel V5.

Another anomaly I've noticed is new folders are reluctant to start scanning. I added a folder about 20 minutes ago, and still waiting for the first scan. In the meantime, another folder has scanned at least half a dozen times. I know I can run the rule for the new folder and that will seem to kickstart it so it gets into the rotation, but waiting to see if it will eventually scan on its own. I've waited up to 12 hours before on other new folders before having to kick them by running the rules once.
