Video files sorted by camera

Hey there,

I've tried to find something similar in the forum but couldn't.

Is there a way to sort video files by the camera that took it. I tried, device make, model, resolution, etc but it appears that either than metadata doesn't exist or hazel cannot read it.

looking to build something like:

YEAR -> MONTH -> CAMERA

even YEAR -> MONTH -> RESOLUTION or YEAR -> MONTH -> PREFIXNAME (ie. GOPR***) would be fine. Just to help separate them

Thanks

Select the file in Finder and do "Get Info". Any metadata available should be show under either "Info" or "More Info".

So if More Info is blank, I'm out of luck?

Is there any way to inject this information? Preferably, but a batched process ie. just looking to add basic info such as resolution

I've tried some googling this morning and can't find anything that allows adding metadata without creating a new copy.

It depends on what programs you have installed to handle those files. Those apps define how they are categorized and should provide a Spotlight importer to extract the metadata. You may need to experiment with different apps until you find one that does that.
