You have run out of application memory

I just received a notice "You have run out of application memory". When I looked at the system preferences, it was taking up 687GB of memory. I had Hazel running as normal. Could this be the cause?

What version of macOS are you running?

Unfortunately Catalina 10.15.5

With Catalina, Hazel actually runs in a different process than System Preferences so it's unclear whether Hazel itself is responsible. Are you able to replicate this consistently?
